Today's post is brought to you by Angie from Angie and the New Life. She is such a sweet lady with a beautiful family and a talent for making cute stuff! Make sure to check her out.
I just started reading Sara's blog a few short weeks ago and
when she sent out a request for guest posts I jumped on it. As you well know
(if you read this blog) Sara has just had a new little girl and so now she has
two little ladies to care for. I know what that can mean for business and
soaking it all in. I wanted to help as best I could. She being in Florida and
my being north of her by some thousands of miles I thought this was one thing I
could do. May you be well rested Sara and soak it all up. Such a blessing having two girls to love on.
Sara took a short tour around my blog and
suggested I do a bit of a write up about my
shop. It feels funny to me, using this time to "sell"
myself and my stuff so I think what I will do is "share" my
inspirations for why I make the things I make.

Okay to be honest it is mainly cause the vintage styles
appeal to my eye. It is like cotton candy, sweet and melts in your mouth.
I am inspired by a simpler time for the girls, both in play
and in how we raise them. I want them to remember a bit of a slower paced life.
To raise them with purpose and direction.

I know, how does this translate to the clothes I make and
sell. Well like I said I like the look of them desperately and I love to make
them. I love the idea of play clothes for children made by hand with love.

We try to keep our lives simple. Simple toys, simple
entertainments, back to the basics of life.

(Suzie can
spend up to half an hour at any given time swinging.
This sweet
girl will swing no matter the weather nor time of day)
Yes we live in modern times with internet and cell phones in
the hands and homes of most children. That is part of the times. My husband is
inspired by technology and so the girls will know well how to navigate that
world. I just hope to keep it all in balance. Use it to enhance our lives not
run them.

And so they grow up playing with old and new toys alike.
They will spend time learning via technology and the nature that we live in. I
hope they will learn to take delight in both the old and the new. That they may
look back at where we have come from and where we can go. To show them that we
have been made in the image of our maker, enjoying both the complex and the
simple. For there is such joy in all that surrounds us.
Life is a gift from God, every day full of new and wondrous
things. I hope never to lose sight of that.

Thanks Angie! Her little girls and sweet clothes are the cutest. ♥
