I am a sucker for a weird tee. I got this one from Gooseberry Falls in Minnesota. It's seriously one of the most beautiful places ever. It is a kids shirt and hardly fit me when I bought it 4ish years ago... so you can imagine how it fits now. I already had to split the neck to keep from feeling strangled while I wear the shirt but never wanted to wear it in public since it was too fitted.
ANYWAY!
My friend Gigi came over on Sunday and showed me how to cut up some tee's. This can be used for shirts that are a little too snug and shirts that are too big. (I also restyled a hogwarts tee that I have that is a XL. It was the last one they had...) You simply cut the hem off at the sleeves and bottom of shirt to give it a uniform curl and then cut from shoulder to shoulder. Start with a smaller cut and then you can go deeper if you'd like. And that's it! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

ps- This is probably already evident from my slightly crazier then usual posts this week but I am sick. Just a good ol' head cold (notice the breath right strip on my nose) it also explains my lack of makeup and poor quality phone pics. This is as good as it's going to get until I feel better. ;)

First off...you look far to cute to be sick...so you suck :p
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon...I'm a witch even with a head cold...feeling under the weather is just awful. That shirt is adorable even before the restyle and now it's pretty fabulous. Thanks for sharing!
I love it!!! It is an amazing tee - I'd pay good money for it! :)
ReplyDeleteWe're both suckers for weirdo tees. You should see my Etsy faves...oh boy.
ReplyDeleteI need one of those wolf shirts! Lance and I would look so awesome in matchy ones :)
ReplyDeleteum...that shirt is the most amazing thing ever! I have been in the search for an awesome wolf shirt for two years, (no lie). My husband has like 50. All from goodwill and I have 0. I might have to steal one of his and do this. :)
ReplyDeletehope you feel better!

I used to do this a lot with on-sale turtlenecks from Walmart. They turned out pretty awesome, but got too unraveled after several washes. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteIf you want more t-shirts to restyle, I'm actually having a huge blog sale and could get a bunch to you for a decent price. I want them GOOOONNNNNNE! (http://www.atavisions.com/2011/10/confession-blog-sale-and-my-first.html)
Gonna pull out a shirt and do this ASAP!
I agree you look to cute to be sick! I do hope you feel better and soon, it stinks being a sick mama with a baby to take care of.
ReplyDeleteand this is AMAZING!!!! I've been wondering how to do this and I have a BUNCH of t-shirts to do this on. Im cutting up my clothing this weekend! ha ha
